Rock Steady Boxing

Comber Physical Therapy and Fusion Chiropractic proudly offers Rock Steady Boxing Williamsburg. RSBW is the first clinically-based program in the state of Virginia. Our fitness program, aimed at improving balance, speed of movement, flexibility, gait mechanics and emotional state and speech, incorporates non-contact boxing style exercises as a training modality for movement and balance disorders, especially Parkinson’s disease. Rock Steady Boxing serves both men and women of all ages and levels of ability.

We are learning every day that there are ways in which people with Parkinson’s disease can enhance their daily quality of life and even build power, strength, flexibility and speed! Some neurologists even report a reduction in medication for RSB participants. Boxing works by moving your body in all planes of motion while continuously changing the routine as you progress through the workout. Call Rock Steady Boxing today for a private consultation with a coach to learn more and sample a class.

What Our Patients Think About Comber Physical Therapy and Fusion Chiropractic

I tried the other big PT in town. Comber is hands-down better: a personalized approach, friendly and helpful staff, and clear results. I went from searing knee pain from just sitting to running a (slow) 5k in a few months. So happy I went to Comber. 10/10 would recommend.

This is my first time in physical therapy and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everyone I’ve met with from the front desk to the therapists have been friendly and knowledgeable. I’m thankful for that and for them.

My daughter is in great PT hands at Comber PT in Williamsburg as she recovers from her ACL and meniscus repair surgery. Had three PT treatments at another W-burg large PT spot, and we were very unimpressed with the lack of attention and impersonal care my daughter received after major reconstructive knee surgery. Moved to Comber PT and are thrilled with the care. Karen McPadden did the intake, and oversees her treatment, and was extremely thorough, reviewing the PT protocol from my daughter’s surgeon, explaining that they will follow it to a T, which was reassuring (the protocol was NOT followed at the other PT place) The PT assistant follows Karen’s instructions and has been professional and skilled in guiding my daughter’s recovery. As a parent who lives on the other side of the country (but was there in the early days of the PT situation), it is very reassuring knowing that she is in such good hands as she heals and builds up her strength and flexibility in a safe and supportive environment. She adds that everyone is really friendly and they have fun conversations while she is there. Highly recommend them based on her experience.

You all are genuine, on-time, organized, and helpful. I never felt like I was just a “customer.” Your company feels more like a welcoming gym. It is an upbeat and fun place to be.

“Currently in PT for a shoulder injury. My entire team has been great and has helped me make a lot of progress (Thanks Mike!) but I particularly wanted to take a minute to say how great Ms. T at the front desk is!! She is the nicest, friendliest, most positive person I have ever met in my whole life and she makes it a joy to just walk through the front door each time I come!”

My therapist was Micheal Dorsey. He knew his stuff. I initially thought I could probably do my post-surgical physical therapy on my own but I soon realized I was out of my league and these guys were pros. I ended up learning a lot and my shoulder function improved dramatically. Can’t say enough about Micheal. If I ever need PT again I will ask for him specifically. Overall great experience.

Comber PT did a great job at helping me heal from a severe jet-ski crush injury to my left leg. All of the soft tissue in my lower left leg was crushed all the way to the bone, including all nerves, tendons, ligaments, and muscle tissue – my leg was basically flattened. Luckily I had no broken bones, but the injury was severe enough to where it took 6 months of consistent physical therapy to rehab it. The staff at Comber PT were all extremely friendly and did a great job at helping my rehab progress. I would highly recommend Comber Physical Therapy in Williamsburg/NewTown to anyone.

“I look forward to going to physical therapy. I am getting to feel a lot better. From the front door to the back, the employees are so friendly and professional. I felt right at home the very first day. They know everyone and they go beyond to make sure that you are getting the best treatment with safety placed first. I feel like I am 30 instead of 76 when I walk out the door (smile).”
