Danielle Young, DPT, Lead Therapist

Dr. Danielle Young joined as the Lead Therapist for the Lightfoot Clinic in 2017. She holds a Bachelor’s of Biological Sciences from NC State University and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University. In addition, Danielle is Functional Movement Systems (FMS) certified and Trigger Point Dry Needling certified. Her favorite part of her job is teaching patients about their body including why they hurt, how her work can fix it and how the patient can fix it. She believes there is nothing better than seeing a patient be able to take control of their own path.

Dr. Young became a Physical Therapist because she enjoys helping people get back into an active, healthy lifestyle. One of her favorite memories is of a patient who was unable to walk 10 feet with a cane without excruciating pain in her back. After working with her for some time, she was able to walk for 30 minutes with a cane without pain. She was so happy to be able to return to church, clean her house, and go out to lunch with her friends.

In her spare time, Danielle enjoys running, working out, and spending time with her family. She loves being outdoors and repurposing/refurbishing things. At the end of the day, Dr. Young wants her patients to know that she is passionate about what she does and she is always striving to teach others about what can be done to correct any discomfort they may be experiencing.
